Hello all Saint Louis food lovers! Welcome to my blog. Why am I starting this blog you say? It could be any number of reasons.
It could be that I've just started my own law firm and I have more time
on my hands than I know what to do with which you can find out about at
http://www.christopherleelawoffices.com/ (shameless plug).
It could be that I've read one too many yelp reviews where the phrase
"the best ever" or "amazing" or "incredible" was used just a little to
liberally and upon arriving at the restaurant, I found the food to be
none of those.
It could be that there are just so many amazing places in Saint Louis
that need to be experienced which a shocking number of people know
nothing about.
But I think that's it's simply because I love food and I want to catalog
my food experiences for my own future prosperity so when I'm old and
senile I can regale and bore my grandchildren with stories of the
wonderful places I've been to eat.
The last thing you'll need to know is my rating scale. I've decided on a simple 5 star scale with .5 gradations allowed.
1 Star - The absolute worst of the worst. As if the place has never cooked food before. I expect this to apply a lot to fast food restaurants.
2 Stars - A restaurant that's not advisable to return to. Maybe it was the service, the ambiance, the price, or something else, but this is a place I will likely never be returning.
3 Stars - Average food at its best. The food was probably perfectly edible, the restaurant was fine, but it just didn't wow.
4 Stars - Now we're getting there. These restaurants won't always be rated 4 stars on food. Maybe the entire comprehensive experience was just sublime. Still, it just misses the mark.
5 Stars - A rare honor. Off the top of my head I can think of 3 places that qualify (Annie Gunn's steakhouse, Urasawa on Rodeo Drive, and a small seafood diner in the Virgin Islands with the best curried lobster in the world.
